There is an attempt in this paper to affirm a "new" ("old") paradigm on physical culture as a professional and social activity and its corresponding scientific discipline in a logical, ontological, epistemological and methodological way. For defining science/sciences on physical culture, three elements are necessary: Name (term of profession), Native idea (genus proximum) and Structure of science. The name (term of the profession) is "PHYSICAL CULTURE", ("Physical" - natural ability of moving; "culture" - appropriate human activity). Native idea (genus proximum) of physical culture is physical ACTivity and its differentia specifica is determined by its aim – welfares to be realized on human organism (developing aspects in physical education; maximum achievements in sport; optimum aspects in recreation). Since it has structurally been "established" by several sciences, it is always said in plural – "SCIENCES ON physical culture". Sciences in our field are INTER-DISCIPLINARY, because different scientific disciplines have been used in studying appropriate human activity. Structure of Sciences on physical culture consists of three groups of scientific disciplines: a) ESSENCE OF SCIENCES ON PHYSICAL CULTURE; b)INTERDISCIPLINARY SCIENTIFIC FIELDS; c) CLOSE PROFESSIONAL SCIENTIFIC FIELDS.

At the sample of 333 pre-school boys, which were divided pursuant to the length of stay in playschool, i.e. physical exercises, into three groups, at the moment of enrolling at the elementary school, functional abilities were measured and tested. In order to determine the differences between the groups of boys with different length of stay in playschool, one way (ANOVA) and multivariant analysis (MANOVA) was administered, as well as discriminative analysis (DISCRIMINATIVE). The results show that there is no significant difference between the groups. Based on the obtained results and realization of the factors that could possibly influence the development of functional abilities, it could be concluded that frequency of physical exercises of twice a week, outlined on directed motor activity, as well as the existing space and personnel conditions (in nursery) are not sufficient for more significant development of functional abilities of the boys of pre-school age.

This paper shows the carried research of basic motor abilities and their changes under the influence of experimental treatment (contents from athletics) at the sample of fifth grade female students of elementary schools. The objective of the research was to determine if the application of the proposed experimental treatment, with usage of different organizational forms of work, can cause an increase in efficiency of physical education instruction. The experiment was realized in the first semester of the academic 2000, with three lessons a week (2+1), at the total sample of 98 female students of the fifth grade of elementary schools (E=57; K=41). In the sub-sample of the E-group testers, significant statistic differences in the evaluation variables were noted: speed of alternative movements, flexibility, explosive power of legs, repetitive power of stomach muscles, power of arms and shoulders, agility and persistence of running. It can be concluded that the experimental treatment influenced positively the development of basic motor abilities.

The subject of this research is connection of the morphological and motor characteristics with the preference of defense to a positive attack from the program of special physical education. The research was done on a sample of 49 students of Higher school of Internal Affairs, divided into three groups pursuant to the preference of their defense. They were between 20 and 23. The battery of 17 morphological, 12 motor tests and 3 situational (criterion) variables was administered. Based on the results obtained by the statistic procedure, it was concluded that the groups are almost homogenous. However, certain differences were determined. From the space of motor variables, a statistically significant difference was obtained between the groups, at the test of speed power of the legs extensors(Abalac with the swing of arms) where the best results were obtained by the students who showed the best results by using the techniques of kicks and blocks. The explanation of this phenomenon is based on features and principles on which the techniques of blocks and kicks are based, so it can be expected that the students who have chosen such a defense should show the best results in the speed power of legs extensors. The next, statistically significant difference between the groups was obtained form the area of morphological variables. Namely, the highest middle value of the variable "shoulder width" was obtained in the group of students who showed the best results by the techniques of throwing. This phenomenon was explained through the characteristics of "morphologic sports type", i.e. characteristics of the students from this group. The results obtained by this research, could initiate different opinions regarding the creativity and approach to the training of special physical education and thus the need for further research of this issue.

The aim of this research is to determine the demonstrated differences in successful attacks that resulted with shoot at goal, at the 16th and 17th World Championships in football (France 1998 and Japan and South Korea 2002). 56 football games on both championships were analyzed. The observed variables regard the successful attacks: non accurate, accurate and efficient. At the World championship in France there were more misses i.e. less efficiency with regard to the number of tries contrary to the World Championship in Japan and Korea where rational play resulted in almost the same number of goals, bur out of significantly less number of tries.

University of Belgrade, Faculty of Sports and Physical Education. The coaches have searched for ever a way to improve easily and rapidly the jumping ability of their athletes. The works of Verkhoshanski offered them a new aspect of training consisting of drop jumps. These drop jumps are characterized by the stretch reflex of muscular work. Such a reflex of muscular work understands that the concentric contraction during the rebound is preceded by a rapid eccentric contraction while preparing for the rebound. The researches proved that a jump performed this way is higher than the one performed form the squat position, i.e. when the performed muscular work is realized only in concentric regime. Still the reasons that provoke such a phenomenon are not clearly determined, since there are different approaches of certain researchers to this problem. Great number of studies researched the influence of training on improvement of maximal height of the jump while performing drop jump. It was concluded that the most correct approach is by progressive loading of athletes. In order to gain that in the best way it is necessary to determine the optimal height for the performance of the drop jump. It is also significant to choose the technique of performance, i.e. whether the drop jump is done by movement of grater or smaller amplitudes, with longer or shorter stay on the ground. Besides the aforesaid factors there are other than influence the efficiency of drop jump which have to be taken into consideration by the coaches when they create the training program. It was concluded that this method of training is an efficient asset for improvement of the maximal jump height. Non-researched areas that are pointed in this paper stretch reflex of muscular work, as well as the influence of training in the case of application of different drop jumping techniques. However, the influence of the muscular structure on the effects of training remains vague.

In order to determine the influence of different didactics approaches in application of Physical Education curriculum regarding the development of endurance, as a component of motor abilities, students from the Faculty carried out a research work in the sample of 152 primary school pupils from grade 3. In experimental group, they systematically practiced goal-directed teaching, while in control group; teachers performed traditional, program-directed teaching. By method of multi variant analysis, we determined a significant difference between the two groups regarding initial and final status of endurance of pupils. This could lead us to conclude that different didactics approach, more exactly, physical exercises directed to goal achievements in experimental group positively influenced the development of endurance of pupils, while in control group this is but the consequence of growth and development only. This sample of 9 - 10 year old examinees show that boys gave better aerobe endurance, while compared to them girls have better anaerobe endurance.

This paper presents the concept of the analysis of the physical education class at the Teacher training Faculty of Užice in the academic 2003/2004. I am convinced that such conceived lectures will contribute not only to the objective evaluation of quality of the given lecture but it will also oblige students to be attentive and active during all two semesters of the instruction period and even in the situations when they are the direct organizers and immediate performers of the.

In ninety-six Belgrade primary and secondary schools a survey has been carried out in order to determine whether the schools are equipped with all the facilities necessary for the realization of physical education classes. 65,6% of the schools have indoor gyms, whereas 64,6% of the schools own outdoor courts; 32,3% of the schools are equipped with dressing rooms, showers and bathrooms; 53,1% of the schools have equipment rooms and there are teachers' rooms in 78,1% of the schools. Approximately 10,4% of the schools do not meet the conditions for the full realization of the classes, therefore the classes are organized in ad adapted (sometimes reduced) form. The aforesaid results induced the author to suggest certain measures to improve the situation.

Strong competence at the great international competitions requests from wrestlers an extraordinary physical, technical and tactic readiness, but also psychological stability and concentration of attention. As a very sensitive phase we can distinguish waiting and finding out the drawing lots results and for a successful performance, apart from good motivation and psychological stability it is necessary to activate the wrestler for the fight. In the preparation for competition a training competition with an increased psychological loading should be used. The existence of quality and healthy competition in a team is ideal, and it should be taken into the consideration when preparing wrestlers.

The function of height preparations is adaptation of the body to hypoxia (acclimatization), reduced quantity of oxygen in the air, with the purpose of improvement of aerobic abilities of the athlete (by applying aerobic training i.e. combination of interval and continuous methods). By comparing the results of oxygen consumption and other values in the three events in kayak events (200, 500 and 1000m), it was concluded that height preparations have different influence on the said events. With the competitors specialized for 200m the effect of this type of preparation is significantly reduced, while with the athletes at 500m it is greater and it is the greatest with the competitors at 1000m.
